SEC is Canada’s largest gathering of organizations connected to the $7.4 billion+ sport tourism industry in Canada. SEC23 took place on June 6-8 in Richmond in partnership with Richmond Sport Hosting. SEC23 was designed to help facilitate the recovery of sport hosting. The SEC23 program was interactive, educational, offered opportunities for business-to-business networking, and evening social events.
With less than 4 months to produce this event, Inventa oversaw and managed a registration platform, event communications, speaker management, run of show creation, as well as managing the GoCongress! Program, and the Speed dating component.
Inventa worked with Sport Tourism Canada to design and develop the official event program that was jam packed with high profile speakers within the sport tourism sector. Our in-house graphic designer created the creative assets for the event branding, official programs, speakers’ info slides, and all online and on-site signage.
The Inventa team set up a registration system equipped for payment processing, promo codes and, most importantly integrated a match-making process for the Sport Events Exchange (speed dating) component.
As a strategic partner, Inventa managed the full conference while monitoring the client’s budget and expectations. Coordinated Audio-Visual suppliers, the venue, and their catering team. We conducted full rehearsals with the emcee and speakers in advance and managed the full run of show for the event, including scripting and technical cues.
Inventa was able to successfully oversee this event and had the necessary skills to coordinate with all stakeholders ensuring that all were highly satisfied with their conference experience. The team of in-house experts planned and produced a 3-day Congress with 350 attendees, 50+ speakers, 700+ speed dating meetings, 20+ sponsors and exhibitors for delegates coming from all over Canada.
The opening keynote session on the FIFA World Cup 2026 set the stage for the Congress with a touch of grandeur, providing valuable insights from experts on the significance of unity and preparedness in hosting the largest, most inclusive FIFA World Cup to date.
Our attendees were also privileged to engage with the Canadian Olympic Committee, featuring a panel of 7 speakers, during our second plenary, where they discussed the groundbreaking bid for the World’s First Indigenous-led Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Inventa has been hired to manage the 2024 edition in Winnipeg, MB.
